A bit about me

I am a wedding, portrait and landscape photographer based in the North East of Scotland. I’m married to my wonderful wife Jacqueline and dad to our little cocker spaniel Arty. I first got into photography about 5 years ago as a hobby but soon became hooked. I own and run snubbachub photography studio and gallery in Macduff. I would describe my photographic style as unique and creative. I endeavour to make sure the images i take, whether it be for someones wedding or a studio portraiture shoot are as unique and eye catching as possible. I’m firmly of the belief that an image is not only a snap-shot of a particular point in time but also a welcome challenge to create something out of nothing and limited only by my imagination. I’d describe myself as a bit of a ‘geek’ when it comes to appreciating technology and learning new skills and so i thoroughly enjoy the creative and technological challenges and opportunities digital photography brings and i’m always striving to be better day in and day out.

Prior to becoming a photographer I worked as an accountant for a number of years in Aberdeen having first studied economics at university and then going on to study ACCA.

To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy
